Frequently Asked Questions

How are words counted?

Words are counted by splitting your text on whitespace (spaces, tabs, newlines). Each group of non-whitespace characters is counted as one word. Empty text returns zero.

What is the difference between characters and characters without spaces?

"Characters" counts every character including spaces, punctuation, and newlines. "Characters (no spaces)" excludes all whitespace characters, giving you the pure text length.

How is reading time calculated?

Reading time is estimated at approximately 200 words per minute, which is the average adult silent reading speed. Speaking time uses 130 words per minute, the average for public speaking.

What are stop words in keyword density?

Stop words are common words like "the", "and", "is", "in", etc. that are excluded from keyword density analysis because they appear frequently in all texts and don't indicate the topic of your content.
